Facts about the house

So here's a few facts about the new place:

- Our pet spider seems very happy here. Much much happier than at the house in Trenton:

- There is a TCBY approximately one mile away. Chris and I enjoy the TCBY. (Oh yeah Weight Watchers people - a kiddie size TCBY yogurt is 1 point - bring on the yogurt.)

- My plants are just as sad here as they were in Trenton, but I'm hoping to do a better job at taking care of them. From left to right there's a Christmas cactus, an orchid, and a sad, sad, spider plant.

- The cooking in this house is really good. I don't know if it's the fact that my commute no longer sucks the life out of me, or the electric versus gas stove, but we've been making some good stuff. Tonight I made two recipies out of this book:

The potato florentine soup and the lemony tofu. The soup was really good and easy to make and the tofu is really really good. I've been trying to figure out how to make tofu and this is a good recipe.

But isn't this a knitting blog? Yeah it is, so I'm gonna go knit so I have knitting to post about.

TCBY was my first job....is white Chocolate moose not the best thing ever made!I used to gorge myself during my shift on yogurt...I remember wanting a chip or a slice of pizza so bad because I was so,so sick of sweets...now it is back to being a special treat...have you ever had there hot walnut sundae topping I could just eat a cup of it by itself...or the yogurt sandwich...or the bananna pudding...I need to focus on something else.It is going to be a long night if I keep torturing myself like this.

The orchid looks like it could use some help.

Try and pick up a 10-10-10 fertilizer, and water twice a week
Try and get the humidity up around the plant. Put it in a glazed teracatta (sp?) base, with some gravel, then add water. Put the plant on top of the gravel .
If need be pull the plastic pot it is already in. it will help keep the humdity up a few points arond the plant.
Also try and get it some good sun, either a west or east window. South is too much light and you will burn the plant.

Just some pointers. The others you may want to just get some slow release fertilizer and some sun.

Spiders and icecream yum.

I'm going to have a dream about your spider tonight, and that dream will be a nightmare. (I have a wee bit of a spider phobia.)

Congrats on the new place. Sorry you had to ruin it by boarding a spider. Spiders are my leastest favorite thing on the planet.

Oh people hate my spider. Really it's the least threatening pet ever. I usually can't tell if it's alive or not. I'm afraid of cats much more than spiders since they send me into a snot-filled allergy coma.
