New and Shiny

I've actually managed to find time to view a couple of movies that I've been meaning to watch off the netflix list.

Alright - I thought this movie would be really stupid. And it was, but it was also really funny. I'm sure there are many of you who will disagree with me, but the damn movie was funny. I think they did a very authentic representation of NJ cops. I recommend it for a night where you might end up watching reruns of Friends instead. It's worth renting. I even thought the menu on the DVD was amusing.

As for music - I got the new Fiona Apple album. I'm still giving it a few trial runs before I decide whether or not I like it.

I also got Iron and Wine Woman King. I did not like this album upon first listen, but after listening to it again, in the comfort of my home, I do like it alot. A whole lot.

I watched the american version of the office.

This guy:

Doesn't quite do this guy justice:

It just isn't as funny watching the American guy put a stapler in a jello mold. And the boss isn't as believable as a complete jackass as Ricky Gervais. I will say that this American version is okay - better than I thought it would be. It's probably hysterical if you haven't seen the BBC version. My loyalty lies with the original but I'll probably watch it, since it's on after another of my favorite shows - Scrubs.

I keep meaning to look for this show, but always forget. I want to watch it. Instead I watch TBS reruns of Raymond, Friends, Seinfeld and Sex and the City like it's going out of style.

I didn't like the iron and wine CD on first listen either. I picked up the one before Woman King and enjoy it a lot.

I too am a pseudo fan of the american version. We'll see where it goes. The show has so much potential. I do think the new secretary smokes the old secretary though. Did you notice that Ricky Gervais is Executive Producer on the american version. That is SWEEET.

Staplers in gelatine is always a hoot.

I hate when they do lukewarm American versions of awesome British shows... argh.

The Office is one of those shows that I half love/ half hate. It almost strikes too close to home! That boss!

Haven't seen the american version yet though...

Hope you are feeling better!

I kept trying to watch it like I'd never seen the British version...but it was hard. I can't believe it was so similar!

I heart Tim.

Wait....so Fiona HAS or HASN'T released a cd since "When the Pawn...? I'm confused.

And Woman King? I LOVE it. But then again, i love everything that guy puts out.

I keep meaning to watch The Office,...but that means that I have to remember to set the vcr :/ I ust keep forgetting.

I agree with you on all counts. Except Fiona Apple. You should love it on first listen. You'd be surprised the good reviews that that White Castle movie got. I plan on watching it someday.
