Antipasticks

antipasticks.jpg

Last night's knitting was fun. I forgot to take pictures. A lot of the girls couldn't come over so it was just me, Kristina. Chris (on the right) and Heather.

We had some snacks and knit away. I made some progress on my shrug and will probably be done next weekend. I made these antipastick things I saw on Food TV (giant olvies, mozzarella balls, and a grape tomato on a stick. Yum). And they were fan-tastic. I'm gonna make them for parties from now on. Oh Rachel Ray you are my food tv hero. I like watching her b/c she's absolutely dorky and so am I.

So I have a question for you folks and I'd like you to answer me in the comments if you don't mind. What do you do for a living (or if you're in school what are you planning on doing) and do you like it? I'm just curious because I've been contemplating what I'm going to do next in my "career" and I'm having trouble deciding. I keep thinking - what job can I have that I'd enjoy, but that's practical? Yeah, zippo. Too bad I can't get a job as a professional luncher. I don't like to talk about work on here too much, but I've kind of wandered into the "career" I have and I wonder if I had chosen a career instead if I'd be doing what I'm doing. And if not, what would that be?

I'm a recruiter for a consulting firm. It's okay, some days, but I usually wish that I had majored in interior design for commercial spaces - something creative. Too late to go back to school & start over now...maybe if I had a boyfriend who could support me! It's a tough decision. Good luck!

Turns out I probably won't be using my Sociolgy major at all. But hey...at least I'll have the degree. I love my job at Starbucks...but customer service does not a career make (or however that funny saying is supposed to go). I could work higher up in the company should I want to.....oh wait. You wanted some sort ofhelp here.

I got nothin'. Sorry.

Great appies! As for me, I'm a program administrator for the continuing ed department of the local college. Love my job, love, love LOVE what I do! But, I enjoy being a paper pusher and planning projects.

I handle project planning and management for a home builder... from the day we decide to builder a house to the day it is complete, I keep track of every little step. We build LOTS of houses, so I am always busy. I work all the time. It's sad. I enjoy it though, I like seeing the impact my planning makes on what we do here. Not a low-stress job though. I have had mini-psychotic breaks a few times :)

Ah, someone else in the world who knows what daily affirmations are!!! I'm finally not the only one that remembers the SNL skits!!
Anyhow, as far as the career question, I was a diesel mechanic in the Navy for 9 years then got out and now I work at an offroad shop as a receptionist/parts cataloguer/chick that guys think they can hit on despite the big ole ring on my finger...oh yeah, sorry bout that rambling. Anyhow, my dream is to be a chef. I also watch Rachel Ray and I followed her thanksgiving recipes to a T this year and got many compliments so I know she's awesome! I think that it's important to do something that you love and that would make you feel fulfilled. For me, that would be cooking delicious food for people. What's better than having a full belly and good company? I submit that there is nothing better! I want to be the person that provides that to people.
