Use the force Luc-ass

George_Lucas.jpg

I just saw Episode Three tonight and there is only one conclusion I can come to - George Lucas was overwhelmed by his need for power and his greed. He couldn't give up control to someone who could write dialogue or believable characters. He's crossed over. His directing skills have been twisted by the darkside.

What the HECK WAS THAT? It did tie up the lose ends/answer questions neatlly, but the writing! The acting! The love story. Ugh. In a split second Skywalker turns over to the darkside. His turn was so fast it was if he said "I'm really hungry. I would totally turn to the dark side if someone had some taco bell." And then there ws the Chancellor holding a Chalupa. And then Luke just gives in. It was that fast and that non-sensical.

I know some people really liked it. So I hope my ranting isn't offensive. And mostly I thought it was OK, but certain things about it bug me so much that I can't get past it. I almost threw up at the part when they were arguing about why he thought Pad Mei was so beautiful. Blech! Barf! Ew! Poor Natalie Portman. I usually like her so much. At least there's always Empire to watch...

Hey, maybe you should edit that chapula lover to Anakin before some Star Wars crazies hunt you down! :) I haven't seen it yet, but it looks like my number is up this weekend - Isaac has been bugging me all week. I will plug my ears during the I love you, no I love you sequence...

FINALLY! I have not come out and actually said how I felt about this movie because it seemed like EVERYONE was raving about it, but seriously, did Lucas get a kindergartner to write the script... sheesh, I was rolling my eyes left and right at the awful dialogue. I hated that Natalie Portman was relegated to the house the whole movie... I like her, but her role in this was so marginal.

Well, glad we can agree on that... I was beginning to think that my DH and I were the only ones that felt this way.

Have a good weekend!

Sadly, it had a chance to be worse. There could have been some lines by...Jar Jar. *shudder*

For me, the visuals and action scenes made the...well, everything else, bearable. As a story, though, this reinforces by dislike for prequels. If you have a story to tell, please just start telling it from the beginning.

I enjoyed it...no, wait, I LOVED it. I agree with the acting/dialogue....Lucas is by no means a master of intellect when it comes to that whole dialogue thing. However, it WAS better than the last two. The eye candy was AWESOME.

The one thing I DIDN'T understand was Padme's choice of sleep wear. That blue thing? With all the ropy chainy pearly things? And that hair? Who goes to sleep like that? I found the idea that someone would wear that to sleep more unbelievable than anything else. Which is saying something considering the genre.

I love the Taco Bell analogy though. That hit it right on the head.

The worst line of the movie was when Padme was looking at Ani turned Darth surrounded by volcanos and lave and and said "You're breaking my heart"

We've been laughing about that for DAYS!
