Blightis
A guy I used to hang out with in high school coined the term blightis. I don't even know if that's how you'd spell it, but blightis is what we call it when you can't stop talking about the past. Like when you hang out with friends and keep reminiscing in a "this one time at band camp..." kind of way.
So we had a few friends over on Friday and I was telling them about how I used to dress like a ho-bag in jr. high and I pulled out some pictures. Well I found some great non-ho-bag photos of myself as well. I think I was posting before about how awkward I was in elementary school. Well I present you with "Exhibit A."
This is a picture of me and my mother and my sister at my first holy communion. Check it out. I thought that dress was the SHIT! My aunt added lace to that lovely frock of mine.

There's my sister in a belted dress and my mom in a power suit. It's all pretty tragic. The best part is that while I was a huge dork I had no idea. I thought I was cool - so no harm, no foul.
Anyway - there's a little glipse into my past for you. If you want, how bout you post embarassing awkward pictures of yourself for my enjoyment?

Awesome. I should bring some pictures from my Mom's - there's some pretty tragic ones of myself circa 1988 as well.

As a junior high friend, I was a witness to these dork days. But, you were damm close to the top of the dork pecking order. (At least on the literary/artsy side of the pecking order, there was a completely different pecking order among the math & science dorks.) Does that make you cool, to be at the top of the dork world? Maybe I'm just the bigger dork, but I always took you for cool.
I can't recall too many ho-bag dressed days though. There were definately a few, but I would have described your look as more of a "colorful pre-goth cure loving phaze"

Oh girl, we have all been there! I have so many dorky pictures of me when I was young... that whole awkward stage that lasted from like 8 to... now... :P
I think it is a cute pic -- and like you said, you thought you were cool, so no harm no foul :)
Have a good one!

That is a GREAT picture :) I will scan some of me tonight and post them up - I had a black jumpsuit with big clowers AND polkadots that I wore to all the CYO dances with my black suede boots. And I thought I was the coolest, and didn't know why I didn't have a boyfriend till college :)

That picture, my dear, is nothing. I just looked at my passport photo, which was taken in 1998. I now firmly believe I was the dumbest looking person EVER at that point in time.
And, no, you can't see the picture.

I could swear my mom had the exact same suit & may have even worn it for my sister's baptism.

Remember... that one time... that I actually thought it wise to let my parents take a pcture of me dressed as Michael Jackson (by that time, he was white, so it's ok), dancing around the living room like I was some kind of fricken star. Oh god... all those hours in therapy, wasted!
