Queen Spud

I've always been a really been a big couch potato. I always hated gym - watched a lot of TV. And I've never really understood the idea of participating in sports for fun. Watching sports - yes. Playing sports? No.
I've dabbled a little in exercising, I guess - did some yoga, was on the JV tennis team in 10th grade. But I've always wanted to be one of those people that just exercises. You know the ones who say "when I was running the other day" or "this girl at my gym said..." And I've joined gyms before and gone periodically in an attempt to achieve this. I really like the gym. I like pretending that I'm one of those people that always exercised. But alas right now we're saving for the wedding and all so there is no gym membership for me.
But yesterday I did go walking in hopes to become one of those people who have a secret exercising life. Like in this commercial. I just don't get people who have a natural drive to exercise. Hats off to you people b/c I have a natural drive to sit on my ass and watch reality TV! So there's no real point to this except to say that I'm trying to exercise more and sit on my ass less, and hopefully I can get moving.

I have this undying need to be a extreme sports, try out for the amazing race person...too bad I am a tune in faithfully to amazing race person instead.I will never be "one of those girls"I count down to the last second I am on the stepper and I rented a yoga DVD from the library and really enjoyed watching it but yeah like I can really put my leg over my head.I will say I am enjoying excercise more now that I don't go to work and am home with Michael. It is my chance to get away and do something for me and *gasp* actually interact with fellow human beings!!Belive it or not I actually miss that hence all my blogging friends.

I know what you mean. I long to be one of those people who can say "I run 5 miles every morning before I go to work" or something...but alas, it will never be. I do get a little sprint in the morning when I am trying to catch the bus though usually...

I think we may have been siblings in an earlier life...
I can't tell you how excited I am that BB5 starts next week.
words cannot express how diasppointed I am that my TiVo didn't catch beauty and the geek this week.
I do like what exercise does for me mentally though. It is a great vent for anxiety and stress.

I think that the word 'exercising' came from the latin "to suffer and look like a sweaty swine". Unlike, the word 'relax', which came from Frankie Goes to Hollywood and it means immense pleasure.

I USED to be one of those 5 mile a morning runners. I look back on getting up at 430 am and going to the gym for three hours, and think I must have been on crack. I could never do that now, one, because I stay up too late watching TV and knitting, and two, because I am a lazt fat ass who is reaaaaaaaaalllllly out of shape. If you figure out how to incorporate kick ass workout with watching hours and hours of bad TV, please share.

Umm...yeah...those exercise people are crazy, man. Just crazy.
Seriously, I have faith in you, Jen. As a wise philosopher once said:
"Follow your dreams. You can reach your goals. I'm living proof.
Beefcake!"

I want to be one of those girls, too. You know, the kind that can feel confident after working out to take off my t-shirt & walk around my apt in my sports bra & shorts drinking water & cooling off before jumping into a hot shower. Maybe SOMEday...
