When the Cat's Away...

The mouse probably stays up too late reading...

So Chris and our friend J.T. are up in Boston (otherwise known as "Freckleland" to us blog readers) for a nice romantic weekend together before they, uh WE, get married. Despite the lewd and tawdry tone of J.T.'s blog entry, I'm sure it will mostly be filled with sports watching and minimal debauchery. But I could be wrong.

Chris took the camera, so no lively pictures of what I have instore for this weekend:

  • War of the Worlds with Lisa tonight - yeah girls night out. We'll probably watch the movie and eat food that's definitely not on the "zero points" list

  • Surprise party for former co-worker's birthday on Saturday - I'm on the fence about this one, but I'll probably make myself be social and go

  • Finish reading this book - I love all of her books and I picked this one up on Wednesday and am almost done already.
  • TV/DVD/Movie watching - I have "The Life Aquatic" from Netflix at home. I've had it since June. I will watch it this weekend! I also have quite a few DVD sets for TV shows I might dig into like The Office seasons 1 and 2, Home Movies, and Aqua Teen, not to mention the first season of Twin Peaks, but that may be too creepy to watch on my own.

  • Knitting - I plan on casting on for a cardigan or bulky sweater if I can get my act together - and make progress on clapotis

  • Wedding Stuff - The invitations are in the mail (Applause! Applause!) You all are invited to the bloggy version of our wedding, which I hope I can recreate in pictures for you. We still have to send our readings to our officiant and pick out all the music - which I think I'll get a head start on while Chris is away.

We'll see how much I actually get done. Maybe I'll even blog this weekend. (Maaaaayyyybeeee...)

After watching The Office, your life will never be the same.

Ooh, The Life Aquatic is not good. Not good at all... Alex was begging me to turn it off when we watched it... But you have some great TV watching in store, so I would say it evens out.

I can't make your book link work - I must know what you are reading and what author you love. I'm always looking for summer reading material.

Tawdry? I feel like I've just been called the Melrose Place of blogs.

Um, War of the Worlds?? So scary. Made me cry. I am a wuss. Stupid aliens. Yay for a boy-free weekend though, those are nice every once and a while. Ohhhhh....ATHF....The Office....I am salivating. Fun times. Enjoy it, and congrats on getting those invites out!

I was keeping an eye on them up here! ;)

Well, maybe not that close an eye...

Congratulations on the invitations!!

Casey posted our wedding music on his site- maybe it will help you? Oh wait! You already commented! ;)

He did forget the dad/ Jess dance song, which was 'Have I told you Lately" Van Morrison version. Classy and perfect. :) I cried, of course.

I agree with MJ. If you haven't already, drop everything and watch the Office. Although be forewarned that it will ruin all other comedies for you forever and ever.
