I am the Ticket Master!

What did I spend half an hour doing this moring?

Buying tickets to see these guys:

Ween is playing the House of Blues in Atlantic City in October. We saw them maybe a year ago at Penn's Landing in Philly and it was a great show. The venue at the House of Blues is supposed to be pretty good. Rock and Roll. This has been a pretty dry summer for me as far as concerts go.

I am so totally boring right now and have nothing to blog about. My apologies. I could do what I've seen a few of you do and post a recipe I made up recently. I don't time or measure my cooking so this is all a guess. And you may hate it, but hey, it's something to write, right? Right.

Black Beans and Rice (good side dish to fajitas or tacos or quick lunch)

1 can of black beans, drained and rinsed
1/2 a medium onion
1/2 a green pepper
2 cloves of garlic
1 tsp cumin
cayenne to taste
1 lime
olive oil
1 tomato
chicken or vegetable stock
salt and pepper to taste
1 packet of yellow rice mix

- You make the yellow rice mix according to the directions. You sautee the onions in about 1 tbs olive oil until softened - maybe 2 minutes. Add the bell pepper and garlic and cook another 2-3 minutes. Add the black beans and tomatoes, a pinch of salt and pepper, and the cayenne to taste (I did a small shake). Cook another minute or two. Add chicken stock - I'd say about 1/3 - 1/2 cup. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes - 10 minutes or until whatever else you're cooking is done. Squeeze lime juice over beans at the end. Viola you have rice and beans.

Oh my god. Ween! I have to admit, I know nothing by them other than the "Daisy" song (I can't remember the official title. It wasn't "Push the Little Daisies", was it?) But come on now...do I really need to know anything else by them? That song is hilariously annoying.

Sometimes I like Ween, sometimes I hate Ween. Mostly I hate Ween. I like Roses are Free much much. But the truth is that I will forever associate them with being in It's Pat: The Movie.

Voodoo Lady is OK, too, but I hated that Country album.
