So tired --- on account of my trip to Rhinebeck
Oh. My. God. So much fun at Rhinebeck! Yay!
My friend Kate drove up to Poughkeepsie NY with me after work on Friday in the rain and nastyness. It took us about four hours to get up there to her grandmothers house. We slept over and then on Saturday I got up to leave and meet Anne Marie, Carrie, Jessica, and Casey at Le International House de Pancakes in Poughkeepsie. I was sooo excited! These peeps are the bomb yo. Really, everyone I met was as funny, and nice, and lovely as I expected and I had a fab time!
You can check out my pictures here. I think Anne Marie, Carrie, and Jess will probably have some pics up soon too. So basically we went to the festival, then AM and Carrie had a jacuzzi, then we went to the grocery store and quiznos and then we sat around and knit and drank beer with Vibegirl Lara, Small hands Chelsea, Snargle Sarah (is it me or is your site down??), Paula and Anna. I am so sorry Paula and Anna if I screwed up your names. There was also someone else in the room with us and I never got her name. I suck. I am so sorry. If I met you this weekend. Please tell me who you are and I will faithfully read your blog!!!
So anyway - these are my new BFFs and I am so happy I met all of you and I had a fantastic time and I have many funny stories now.
Things I found out about these peeps:
- Carrie can be a little punchy in the car and may mistake one Starbucks for two different Starbucks, but that is okay because she is cute and funny.
- Anne Marie will think you are short until she meets you. She is as skinny and pretty in person as on her blog pictures.
- The way to a woman's heart is through her ass according to someone Anne Marie knows
- Jessica is very very good at packing a ton of shit into a tiny car
- Casey is a big fan of sauces and mustards
- You pronounce Lara's name with a short a in the beginning
- If you only barely know Chelsea and Sarah, they will still be very nice and friendly to you
- More knitters than you think know the words to this song.
So as you can see, this was a very educational experience and well worth the drive through the rain to get to meet these wonderful people. Yay!

Hey there - it's Anne, actually, but no big deal. It was great to meet you! I had such a blast meeting all these new (to me) bloggers, but now Bloglines is taking a big ol' hit today. By the way, Paula is woolarina.com/blog (I think) and the other girl was Christina, whose blog is stitch-witch.net.
Great pics!

This has convinced me I need to move to a more knitting/knit blogger friendly part of the country where fiber festivals abound. You are all sooooo cute, and I LOOOOVE your new hair. Looks like y'all had a blast!

Seriously, WHY do we all know that song. We are gross.
It was so so so fun to meet you! I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Clearly you need to move to Athens. Or at least visit.
YAYAYAY BIG LUG!!! We love you!

Doh. I was going to say that you are fabulous and it was great to meet you but Jess beat me to it. Boy, I look kind of grumpy in that picture. I was having fun, really! Cameras make me cringe.

It's official. I love you.
You are the biggest lug.
Did I mention I love you?
You are the best thing to come out of Jersey since Wawa. And I love the Wawa.
PLEASE, get your butt down to Athens so we can hang some more. There's an IHOP here to ya know. And Waffle House. And me.

Uhmmm...why is it that Carrie is wearing a scarf in that pic and you look all toasty warm while Jess is wearing a TANK TOP?!
