Happy Presidents Day

I spent my rare day off watching the DIY network all morning. Did you know that there is a scrapbooking show on there? Did you know that Michaels was having a Presidents' Day sale? Well that resulted in the creation of this:

I've been meaning to frame our wedding invitations for quite a while. This shadowbox frame was on sale, so call it destiny!

This weekend we had dinner at this restaurant with a few friends. It was delicious. If there's one in your town - go. Eat. Go eat the mushroom ravioli. So good.

Sunday we drove down to Chris's parents' house for his dad's birthday dinner. I knit on Tubey on the way down. I didn't get too much done.

These pictures are courtesy of my new camera phone. So useful to the average blogger.

So I plan to finish Tubey this week or weekend. I am so determined. I ordered extra yarn to make a wide red stripe and extra black yarn to finish it. I like the idea of Tubey, but its not going as quickly as I'd like it to.

Here's to a four day work week!

ETA: I am not driving in that picture! It would be great if I could knit, drive, and take my own picture all at once, but alas, my cameraphone reversed the image somehow so it looks like I'm driving. Man Chris would have a heart attack if I started knitting while I was driving on the Expressway. :)

I love that you can then go to the DIY network and watch videos of things you've seen on the shows!

What is the purple-y looking item in the shadow box? Love the whole box, it's beautiful.

Are you driving and knitting in that picture?? You are so hard core :-)

You look super cute in that picture! And yay for days off. I watched the Project Runway marathon on Bravo. GO. DANIEL. V.

I totally did not notice that you were on the wrong side of the car. I was loving the glasses and wanting to see more of Tubey. I don't know what that says about me??

I, too, wondered what else was in the shadow box.

(and yes, go Daniel V, except not with the dress he made Chloe, which sucked.)

I TOTALLY thought you were driving and knitting in that picture. I'm glad you added that little bit at the end there.

I know I should be concerned for your safety if you *were* driving and knitting at the same time, but I'm not. I'm jealous.

There's a lady I work with who has figured out how to pump (breast milk) and knit at the same time. So why not drive and knit?

Oh. Yeah. Because I'm not that good a driver.

Happy Day off to you too! I am a government worker and get all of those types of holidays off. I spent my day with Petey. We had a 'mommy and me' day. You got some knitting done, thus you were more fruitful. And the framing is beyond the scope of anything I could possibly get done on my day off.
Until Memorial day...
