Happy Valentines Day and Tubey Update

Nothing quite makes the single feel more single than Valentines day. That's always been my opinion. I think Valentines day is kind of dumb, so Chris and I are boycotting it this year. It's rare for me to turn down an opportunity to get a gift, but this year I just said no. But even though we aren't gifting, I do wish all of you a happy day filled with pink hearts, green clovers, blue diamonds, and purple horseshoes.

Here is my tubey update:

I joined the knitalong and I'm happy to be making progress. The Knitpicks Andean Silk is really nice to knit with. The only thing is--I think I'm going to run out of yarn. So I'm probably going to add the stripes back into the body to make sure that I have enough yarn to finish this sucker. I'm using so much yarn just on the sleeves that I'm nervous. I figure I may not be able to match the black dyelot, so I'm best off ordering some more Andean Silk in different colors.

This past weekend was eventful. Snowstorm of the year - 16 - 18 inches at our house. I got a new cell phone with a camera phone (you can read all abou the snow and cell phone on Chris's blog.) and I watched uber cute movies: Raising Helen and March of the Penguins. Raising Helen is now at the top of my super sickly cute girly movie list. Loved it. And of course everyone saw March of the Penguins in the theater but me. I loved that too. Penguins are AWESOME.

Valentine, Schmalintine. We aren't celebrating it either. We may do a dinner this weekend, but thats about it. I DID tell Brian that he could buy me some yarn if he wanted to. I even drew him a map to the LYS. Just in case.

March of the Penguins was an awesome movie.

Can't wait to see the Tubey all done!

i loved march of the penguins. so cute! especially the babies with their mommies.

i say go for the stripes. i kinda wish i'd added one, and most colors will look great with black.

Yay tubey! Maybe you could call them to see if they can match it? Although stripes would be cool too. :)

March of the Penguins is so cool. It makes me teary just thinking about those guys balancing the egg/ babies on their feet!

Hey Jen! Yeah, my Kris and I aren't all crazy about the V day thing either...

I loved March of the Penguins. Amazing movie. I didn't see it at the theater either ;)

I still haven't seen March of the Penguins...but I think it's on the Netflix list.

Yay for Tubey! I really need to make something big. It's been nothing but socks and scarves and little bags for quite a while now. Maybe if I start a sweater now it will be done by next fall :/

I'm sort of in love with Tubey, but still a little scared of it. Maybe I'll learn lots watching yours?

March of the Penguins was GREAT, but I really, really, really want to see the French release, where the penguins talk and the soundtrack is techno.

Ooh March of the Penguins is on my queue...glad you liked it.
Happy Valentines to you too, Senorita Boycotter. I appreciate you standing up for all us single gals. Do you have to boycott all the chocolate that will be on sale tomorrow?

Don't you love having a camera phone? I thought they were silly at first, but now that I have one it's a whole 'nother story, and I'm snapping pictures ALL the time.

Snow too? You're so lucky. Winter's hardly made an appearance here.

You could do subtle stripes with dark grey (if they have it) or cream (makes a classic combination). Or you could order more black, regardless of the dyelot, and make black on black stripes?

Haven't seen MoTP yet, but anything involving cute animals is worth seeing! I'll be making a trip to the dvd place this weekend.
