Talkers, Tubey and Waggle
Tubey progress has been made!
Does that look like a boring rectangle of stockinette? Well, that's what it is. But I am close to the knitting in the round part, so that's good. I knit on this at a superbowl party. It was a little odd knitting during the superbowl, but i got a lot done.
Did you watch the halftime show? Did you see Mick Jagger's tricep waddle? Um yeah. I respect the Rolling Stones and all, but he needs to stick to long sleeves. There was a collective shudder in the room when he took off that jacket.
And in other entertainment related facts - I saw Brokeback Mountain tonight. I'm glad I finally saw it since I felt so behind the times. I thought it was really good and I think Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams were great in it. The only thing that bothered me about it? The other people in the theater. Is it just me, or has it become widely accepted to talk in the movie theater? I remember a time when someone would shush you when you talked. Now I feel like I'm the only one who notices. I want to pause the movie and turn to my fellow movie goers and say "Am I the only one who hears this lady explaining that Heath Ledger is gay in this movie to her husband? Because if I can hear her and I'm four rows in front of her, then why aren't you shushing her when you're sitting directly behind of her?" Man. I just don't get it. Why don't you talkey mctalksalot people stay home and watch movies in your living room where you can carry on your conversation uninterupted by the pesky movie on the screen! Sorry - I had to get that off my chest.

Yay Tubey progress!! And also, boo for movie talkers. Although *sometimes* I might ask questions, but I promise I'm really, really quiet about it. :)
I loved Brokeback Mountain too. I *heart* Heath Ledger.

Emerging from lurkdom to say that I'm surprised that people talked through Brokeback. My experience, and that of a number of others, was that the audience was still, almost holding its breath, for the whole movie. Sorry you had to get the chatterers.
(I had the same thought about Mick's arm. Mick--nothing good comes of taking off clothes at the Super Bowl. Leave the jacket on.)

I hate that talking thing, too. SHUT UP. If you're too dumb to realize that the boys are gay or bi or at least in love with one another, I'm not sure that you should be watching movies. At least not in public.
And go tubey!~

At least we weren't subjected to Keith Richards' nipple! Now that would be a wardrobe malfunction! :)

I've been known to get up & tell someone that I didn't pay $8 to listen to their drama. It usually works. And it can be so fun to be a nitch like that. Stupid people. I hate them.

I hate when people talk in movies too. Drive me nuts!!
I have to say that I was a bit disappointed with Brokeback Mountain... I thought it dragged on a bit. Still think it is awesome though that it is so popular- maybe people learning more will help combat homophobia! Hoping!
