T(oo)ub(ig)ey

Da da dum! Some confessions about the sweater I'm wearing today: 1.) I made it. 2.)There is one end not woven in because I missed it. 3.) It's not blocked. 4.) I'm not sure if I like it.

I took real pictures at home. That's just a little teaser pic. So this sweater took forever for me to knit and I don't know that I like the results. I think for my body type (thicker in the middle) this is not the best choice of sweater pattern. It kind of bulges in all the wrong places, despite being too big. I do like the stripe pattern, the neckline and the sleeves. The body leaves much to be desired in my opinion. But it's done! Yay! and I am wearing it to work today and to knitting tonight. I'm starting to think I should stick to projects that are under 800 yards of yarn. Maybe I'd do better with a sweater pattern with pieces that are stitched together. I have no luck with one piece sweaters so far. I will say that I love the knitpicks Andean silk. Very nice yarn to knit with.

Now I'm in that knitting limbo with no projects started! What to do next? I have my eye on making the Kittyville hat from sNb Nation. In the meantime I'm going to knit dishrags while I decide.

House update: So far so good. We got through the inspection and didn't find anything major. We drafted the letter to the seller on what to fix and we're waiting for a response. It's really starting to feel like we own a house now. We're supposed to settle on May 31st. It seems so far away! I am officially addicted to HGTV while waiting to move. I have about 30 million home improvement projects to start on when we move in.

On a totally unrelated note, we're going to Toronto in April. Anyone have any Toronto tips?

I hope after wearing Tubey for the day that she grows on you and you start to love it. It is always so sad when we finish knits that we just don't *love* but I guess it's all part of the learning curve.

Still thinking happy house thoughts for you!

it looks great from that picture! I know someone (I think Every Word's a Purl Carrie?) washed and dried hers and it shrunk a little and she liked it better. but I hope you like it eventually.

and YAY for house stuff! it sounds like everything is working out...

More pics. Must. See.

Wash it and dry it, see if that helps. I LOVE the stripes.

So glad y'all got good house news! I am super excited for you two.

I think Tubey looks great. Any tips for seaming? Because I right now really stink at it!

Aw... sorry you aren't totally thrilled with it. I find that if something seems to be sticking in bulging (damn winter!) places, it tends to be smoothed out if I wear a camisole under it. You know what I mean?

The camisole holds everthing in a bit and then the upper top just glides over instead of bulging.

Just an idea.

Go to Lettuce Knit! Cutest yarn store ever. Plus, maybe you would run into the Harlot. :)
