Exile in Blogville

Okay - so I shouldn't have just disappeared like that for a whole week or so, but look at all that happened while I was gone!

Most importantly I cast on for Lady Eleanor. Can I tell you I love this pattern? It's the bees knees and will be perfect for wearing in the office where I usually freeze my arse off.

First of all we dog-sat for my sister-in-law's dog Tinkerbell. She is a bijon. She is a very nice doggie and it was fun to experiment with being a pet owner. Tinkie did fun things like poop in the neighbor's yard (I picked it up - a first for me), play tug of war with the rope toy, and eat pigs ears. I like having a dog around, but I must say Mr. Lug is the bigger lover of dogs than I am. I get irritated when I can't understand what the dog wants. Why is she whining? Why won't she stop whining? But I did feel very special when she was so excited every time we came home. Perhaps a dog can be in our future. Alas, Tinkie went home with the SIL this week where she belongs.

While we were dog-sitting we also worked on the house. The dining room was recently painted a shade called cranberry cocktail which I like very much. We also had the floors redone by a "dustless" refinishing service. The floors look awesome, however all of our livingroom furniture is crammed into the extra space in our kitchen right now and we can't move it back until the weekend, which kind of sucks ass - but it sure is shiny now and free of all memories of the three dogs that lived here before us.

And if you can stand more house details - our view from our deck went from this:

After some tree service came and cleared out part of our yard. I love it! I can see the little creek now (or crick if you're from South Jersey).

More house stuff is on the horizon - new windows next week, buying furniture, painting the bedroom. The fun never ends!

Ooh, nice deck :)

And loving the Lady Eleanor. I tried to do a little Entrelac a few months ago and had such a hard time. Wondering now if I was just over thinking it and should give it another shot...
