What I Did This Summer

This labor day I:

  • Threw out my back on Friday at work. Sitting. I threw out my back sitting. I have no idea what happened, but I was incapacitated Friday night and sore for the rest of the weekend.

  • Ate a lot. Ate ice cream. Ate heirloom tomato salad. Made and ate chocolate chip cookies. Ate, and ate, and ate.

My weekend diet of ice cream, IZZE soda from Target (so good), and tylenol. I did not have a healthy labor day.

Who doesn't like chocolate chip cookies???

Heirloom tomatoes are weird looking.

  • Inventoried my stash. I didn't count a lot of the random one or two skeins of cheap yarn I have. I don't know what to do with all that crappy cheap yarn. I may try to make an afghan. We'll see.
  • Watched the classic movies Better Off Dead and Sabrina. (The original, not the remake.)
  • Helped Mr. Lug bottle his homebrew. Who wants to taste test?

  • Knit on Lady Eleanor, started and stopped, and ripped out a spiral scarf made out of Brooks Farm. Thought about what to knit next, came up with no ideas.
  • Wrapped up the weekend watching the Different Strokes docudrama on NBC. How did I no know this was in production?

I buggered my tailbone by sitting on it funny for too long, and the next time I sat down it went snap! That was in June and it's still not fully better, which makes me think perhaps I really did crack it. By sitting.

I thought we were the only family who sat through the different strokes movie...
I would have never known Dana Plato died or that Gary Coleman hated the humiliating story lines...wait I knew that... o.k. I didin't know Gary Coleman befriended Michael JAckson or that his mother was dingy... and that is some stuff I want to know.

I love your site. I'm a fifty-something "male knitter" in Columbus Ohio. I like doing big-knit mohair sweaters... Back when I was in sales (in the pre-911 era) I would sit on planes wearing a business suit and knitting.... no end to the conversation starting! Keep up your great site.
