Halloween Brewfest
What's the best idea for a party that a pregnant woman can throw - well a beer contest of course. So as you all know Mr. Lug has been homebrewing beer as have many of our friends so we decided to all throw a brewmaster competition combined with a Halloween party. The turnout was suprising - about 30 or so of our finest friends turned out with almost 100% in costume. Fun times. I, being pregnant and out of it, did not take a single picture. But thankfully Heather emailed me hers. Heather as can be seen with her husband Mark below in all out costume...
Mr Lug dressed up like Axl Rose and entered his Coffe Oatmeal Stout beer entitled "Hall and Oatsmeal Stout." Here he is in character...
There were many fine costumes including Phil dressed up like bacon...
And I manned the stove, unable to drink. I dressed up as a roller girl. I wish I could really be a roller girl. Sigh...In this picture I'm frying up tiny eggrolls my mom made me. Mmmm - eggrolls.
The beer was abundant and the homebrews were a success. I think everyone enjoyed tasting them and judging.
In the end the trophy - dubbed the "Ted Knight Memorial Cup" or the "teddy" for short - was awarded to Josh, seen here with his wife Jaime as they were dressed as a Mac v. pc movie. a la the Mac v PC commercials...
His beer was a Grand Cru that won over the crowd. The next beer contest is scheduled for around St. Patricks day for which i will - get this - STILL BE PREGNANT! Oh man.
