Delurking Week 2007
Apparently it's delurking week! Taking a cue from this blog, I'm posting a simple question for you to answer to encourage your delurking!
What is your favorite snack food? Right now mine is Entenmann's All Butter Loaf Cake.
So delurk my wonderful lurkers!

My current favorite snack food is Glad Corn. It's the unpopped kernels that you get when you make popcorn. Salty goodness. Not available at most mainstream grocery stores. I buy it in bulk at my local food coop.

I love those little 100 calorie microwave popcorn bags. I make one and then dump the popcorn in a big bowl and cover it in Kernel Seasonings White Cheddar popcorn seasoning. It is SO GOOD.
Also, I really love cut up veggies and fruit. Oh, and string cheese. And chips with homemade salsa. I love snacks.

Hi, delurking....it's a little strange, but I like raw almonds. Also I've really been into tapioca pudding lately.
Posted by: Elise at January 10, 2007 03:44 PM
are vanilla lattes considered snack food?
Posted by: insaknitty at January 10, 2007 03:50 PM
My current craze is Whole Wheat Pretzels, dipped in Hummus. And mini Peanut Butter Cups. All courtesy of my snack dealer, Trader Joe's.

I should take a cue from these people posting rather healthy snacks. Right now, I'm eating a Frosty from Wendy's. My favorite snack at home lately has been chips and salsa or microwave popcorn.

Right now, I am all about these sesame soy crackers from Trader Joe's and the 100 calorie snack Sun Chips in Harvest Cheddar. Yummy!

Right now it's all olives, all the time. Not sure where this came from - up until two weeks ago I hated olives (and no, I'm not pregnant).
:-)

Hmmm. I think my favorite basic snack food is just good ol' Doritos (not healthy, I know). Cheese & crackers make me happy, too. I'm a carbo girl, what can I say?

I just plain love food. I really enjoy buttery popcorn at night with junior mints mixed in. During the day, everything goes. That is why I must wake up at the crack of day every morning and excerise! Mmmm...Food!

I'm not a lurker but I'll play...cheetos (puffs not crunchy) or for a healthy snack, a honey crisp apple or a big glass of extra spicy V-8 juice with lots of lime and a stalk of celery! I haven't had dinner yet, can you tell? :)

Oh man, those Girl Scout Thanks-A-Lot cookies. SO GOOD. Especially with frozen whipped cream on top.

Honestly, lately I've been snacking on the peppermint fudge-covered Oreos that I got in the after-Christmas markdown for 75% off. Great way to start off the new year! Thankfully, they're gone now.
I like this time of year for the Clementines to snack on. Microwave popcorn is good too. And Skinny Cows (although that's more dessert, not so much snack). Hmm... now I'm hungry.

I love to eat har gow...those shrimp dumplings one finds at dim sum.
Posted by: Rossana at January 10, 2007 08:45 PM
The new pretzel chips from Trader Joes. And of course the peanut butter pretzels.

Oh if I must! When I was pregnant, it was Ho Ho's chased with an avocado dipped in lemon juice, in that order. When I am not pregnant it is Kettle Chips - Salt n Vinegar. Signed, De-lurked Fan!

Ok... I guess I'm ready to be outed. I eat clementines pretty much any time I'm hanging out in the kitchen, which is often. Also roasted salted almonds, celery with cream cheese, and reese's peanut butter cups.

Lately it's been raw carrots (which I'm sure is just my body craving something other than Christmas cookies). But my all time ultimate favorite snack food are the Carmel Apples with walnuts from Marianne's on the boardwalk in Santa Cruz. I craved them so much when I was expecting my first child that my poor husband had to drive the 60 miles every week or so just to shut me up!

Hm. . .I think peanut M&Ms are my favorite-- anytime!

I think it's a tie between dark chocolate and pigs in a blanket. yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

WOOHOOO De-lurking week rocks! I come from a family of snackers and my fav snack lately has to be pico de gallo the fruit kind. It's cut up mango, melon & jicama with lime juice and a little salt and chile.

As long as I am de-lurking, I might as well admit my guilty pleasure - a jar of Nutella. That's it Nutella, no pretzels, no toast, just Nutella and a spoon.
If I am feeling like being healthy, grape tomatoes and a little sea salt are delicious.

(I have commented before. . . so not sure this is delurking, but when talk turns to snacks, I have to join in.)
When I wanna snack, I turn to chips, salsa and sour cream.

The old standby - popcorn. I love PopSecret's Homestyle popcorn. It's so delish, I can eat scads of it. I have to write them a strongly-worded letter, though, because earlier this week, I opened up a brand new, fresh, sealed box and lo and behold, there were only 2 packages in it!! Boo hiss. I want my third package!

My favorite snack? I haven't met many that I don't like, unfortunately. Lately I've been on a soft pretzel kick. I found a good recipe for them online, and I've made three batches since Christmas. They're great with yellow mustard or spaghetti sauce. Now if I could only find nacho cheese sauce.
Normal snacking activity usually involves white cheddar popcorn or kettle corn.

I am delurking here.... I am a fan of microwave kettle corn, and home made guacamole w/ blue corn & sesame chips YUM! Plus anything chocolate.

Pepperidge Farms Mint Milano Cookies. From the freezer. Oh yes.
Posted by: carrie at January 12, 2007 06:31 PM
it has to be pepperoni chips with fresh parm melted over them. We can eat one of those half pound bags between us in an evening.
Posted by: emily at January 14, 2007 12:44 PM
I love popcorn with melted butter, parmesean cheese & dill. Oh so yummy! And jellybeans too. Actually, sometimes when I go to the movie theatre I order popcorn and get some m&ms and then I pour the m&ms into the popcorn. You get a handful of popcorn and chocolatey goodness all at the same time - and the candy coating keeps the chocolate from melting on your hands too. Try it sometime! Yummy and practical.

caramel corn. definitely!
