Maternity Leave

So the baby has decided he will come out when he damn well pleases. Granted my due date IS April 1st, so I'm still a few days away from having a real reason to evict him.

So here I am on maternity leave, yet without a baby - so what is a girl to do? I know what you're thinking. Uninterrupted knitting time. Well there has been some knitting and today I'm going to pick out more projects to work on because I happen to be one of those crazy people that goes slightly bonkers when I have no plans in sight and no work to do.

I did complete a few baby bibs a la Mason Dixon knitting. I took a shot of them outside since it's close to 70 degrees today!

Now for a few things I like and dislike right now:

I hate Pledge. We got some new bedroom furniture and I used Pledge on it and it did a really weird thing to the finish. So I discovered the miracle of Method Wood for Good furniture cleaner and let me tell you, I totally dorked out about it and even made Mr. Lug watch me clean our bookshelves with it so he could see how good it is. See what happens when I have no job?

Racheal Ray. Ok so I used to be a 30-minute-meals fan. When she first came out there were a few of her recipes that I tried and liked. But lately, she's everywhere people. Everywhere. And I tried to watch her daytime talk show, but I found it cringe-worthy. Also I've tried two of her more recent recipes lately to close-to-disasterous results. The Risotto? Gummy. The broccoli chicken mac and cheese thingy? Watery. Racheal Ray you're on my list.

The Today Show. I watch this in the morning while I eat my Special K with Red Berries. I never noticed before what a spectacle this show is. Yesterday was the third time I've seen Merideth Viera get hurt while trying to be funny. And Giada De Laurentis is co-hosting. Why?

Battlestar Gallactica. Does anyone else watch this show out there? It's both good an bad. I liked this season a lot, but I haven't been a die-hard fan that long, and I know people who've watched from the beginning are not huge fans of this season. Well the season is over and now we won't know what happens in their search for Earth until 2008.

Well hopefully Baby Lug will be in the next entry, if not you know I'll be eating spicy food, walking like crazy, trying to convince myself that I can evict this baby...

My brother in law and his friends LOVE Battlestar. I don't really get the obsession myself... We will be "back East" a week from tomorrow! I will try to email you later with the details... xo K

Hi, I suck, and still have not mailed your package. I WILL. Promise.

Um, Battlestar? If it were a person, I would kick it. I love it, yet am kinda bitter about this season, but then again, kinda liked some things about the finale, but HATE that there will be no new eps til JANUARY. Not cool.

Dear Baby Lug,
Please come out soon. There are lots of people who want to meet you, and lots of handknits to be worn.

Oh, baby lug, we can't wait to meet you!!!

Giada seems like such a flake to me. Have you ever seen the Iron Chef where Giada and Rachael pair up with two of the regular Iron Chef people? It's hilarious - Giada does NOT do well under pressure.

Hopefully baby lug will come soon. Not much longer. I'm hoping our little one comes out soon b/c I am getting very uncomfortable. I still have 21 days to go until my due date.

Good luck with the upcoming birth! We are thinking such great thoughts for you.

Rachael Ray drives me insane, do you notice how she never lets her guests get a word in? She asks them a question then, just when they are starting to answer, she answers it for them. ANNOYING!

Ha! I'm out sick today and noticed the Today show thing...why was Meredith's son in the middle of the food segment today??? Hope that Baby Lug comes soon and that it all goes as it should!!!

I can't believe that I'm the 3rd Sarah to comment on this post! We're taking over the world!

And Baby Lug, please make your appearance soon, to keep your mommy and all of the anxious knitbloggers who can't wait to meet you happy!

I used to love Rachel Ray as well, however I don't like her new talk show either. Haven't tried any of the recipes, so I can't comment on that. Also, due to moving and no cable, I haven't watched the current season of Battlestar Galactica either. But I can say that I was never a big fan of Meredith's.

there have been a lot of babies being born in blogland lately, and i'm sure yours will be next! can't wait to meet baby lug! and you are right -- the today show is a total trainwreck. i still watch it, but it's just really lousy, especially from 9 to 10 when they bring on the jv team.

I didin't know you are due on the 1st... my niece colie was born the 1st. It made for the perfect set up for April fools day.

mom.... Jennifer's water broke!

Stacy... mmmmhmmmmmmm *sure*

mom... IAMNOTKIDDING ...

Stacy... yeah right

when my mom started getting really irritated I started to consider the possibility....then she said "april fools!"

Stacy....she is not?
Mom... no she really is,
it made for such April fools fun!
Hope you don't have to wait much longer. I know you have heard tons of advice but really truely enjoy that last bit of pregnancy...:)
Can't wait for baby news

Ooh, those bibs....I forgot about those. I'm looking for somethign easy to make for a few babies these days. Those should do the trick.

While I like Rachel Ray, I am getting a bit sick of her. She is just overexposed. And I haven't seen her talk show, I don't really care to.
I also want to know why Giada and her big head are on the Today show.

Patience my little preggo friend. Get lots of rest, catch up on things that you used to say you never had time for, because after he arrives, you will~not~ever~have~time~again.
best of luck to you!

Method owes you for some advertising... I just bought a bottle *I am not a fan of pledge's waxy, smelly build up either* And the almond scented polish is something that actually inspires me to clean:)

Are you still pregnant?
