The Blog Connection
Hello blog world. My name is Simon. My favorite thing to do right now is cry, and eat, and sleep. Oh and poop. I poop a lot. (technically I shart a lot. A real lot.) My mom and dad are zombie like right now and my mom would like to write on her blog and read your blogs, but she is busy feeding me and finding 5 minutes to shower.
Anyway - Whoorl posted an interview entry on her blog that I found interesting and I would ask her to interview me, but alas, we haven't made a blog connection* so I feel weird asking her. So anyway - I don't have much time to come up with good blog posts right now, so if you want you can ask me a question in the comments and I'll answer in the next entry. You can also ask me to interview you and I'll send you 3-5 questions (although I can't promise I'll be timely in my response, but I will send them between feedings when I have time). Or just steal the idea for your blog.
I find blog friend dynamics really interesting. There are many bloggers with whom I email, have met in person, talk to regularly, etc, and others where I leave comments, but haven't really had that reciprocated. I think it's the natural order of things, but I still find it interesting that there are some bloggers whom I'm shy to comment on their blogs...

ohhhh what a darling!!! I had a big head of hair too when I was born...I think I still do :D

Aww! He's so handsome. More and more so all the time!
I know what you mean about blog friend dynamics. Part of mine, sometimes, is that I always can't quite remember if I've commented before...and even though I've had a 'friendship' with that blogger, they don't necessarily know I'm out there / here. So I often don't post because I don't want them to think I'm creepy when I just jump in and say something rambly (hello, this comment) as if we've been talking all along...Do you know what I mean?

He has lots of hair!! And he's so alert :)

I don't know how I lived not knowing the word shart. I guess it just shows how much of a 3-year old I am that I can't stop rolling the word around in my head.
I'm trying to put myself out there to make blog connections and I know what you mean about being extra shy around some blogs. Plus I've been a lurker for so long it's a tough habit to break.
Feel free to interview me, if you want, you know if you have the time, but you don't have to. No rush.

Oh my goodness, he is precious. Absolutely. Even if he sharts. :)

Oh I had hair JUST like that!
And you are silly about being too shy to comment! Somehow I don't see you as the shy type!

As someone who will soon become a new mom, I always have questions for new moms, so I will interview you!
1. What has most surprised you about being a mom?
2. What has been the most challenging aspect and what has been the most rewarding in your short motherhood career?
3. Who do you most admire and why?
4. What is your favorite finished object and why?
5. Since we're on the subject of pooping...when it comes to toilet paper - over or under the dispenser? Crumple or fold?
Those are my 5 questions...feel free to pick and choose or just answer one or two that you have time for. :-) Thanks for the pics of Simon, he is precious!!!

What a gorgeous, gorgeous boy.
I know what you mean about comment-shyness; I've been so busy and unattentive these last few months, and find myself breezing through places I used to comment all the time, reading and not saying a word. Even with people I used to e-mail back and forth with a lot I'm now feeling a little shy, wondering if they've forgotten all about me.

That is a beautiful boy. I cannot get over all the hair. He's cute, even with the sharting.
I tend to be a lurker, with the exception of the invisible bloggy friends I made back when I started my blog. I try to challenge myself a few times a week to comment on a blog I usually lurk on, just to get over my blog shyness.

Dude. Simon is the cutest baby. EVER. Is that getting old yet? That may be the only thing I can say for a while.

I am just sort of out there- I comment on people's blogs all the time. I just know I like getting new commenters and assume others do also! Who knows- they may think I am a weirdo.
OH MY GOD. THAT BABY. He is killing me! The hair! Those eyes! The cheeks! hehe
Question: What advice would you give people thinking about having kids? What is your favorite beauty product? (when you have time to shower- haha)

Simon I do have a few questions for you:
1) Are you liking your new house better then you previous damp environment?
2) Are you aware that your mother will be sorely missed at Maryland this year?
3) Are you aware that next year you have to come there to meet us all?
4) Do you think maybe once a day you could maybe sleep for an extra 30 minutes so mommy can get a real hot shower and clean up nice?
5)Do you think your hair is so far your best feature?
6) Do mom and dad kiss you a lot?
That's it for now Simon, be good and for goodness sakes sleep more baby!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so sporadic with blogs and commenting and such. Even people that are dear, dear friends of mine. I don't always comment. Sometimes I don't have time to type anything, or I type something but somewhere around the "retype this shit to stop automatic robots" my computer decides to crap out and I don't want to type it again or... something else. I always read your blog though and even tell Randy about some of the things you say. To which he always asks, "Have you asked her if she's a Penguins fan yet?" Because it always comes back to that when he hears about PA. Randy's funny.
I am not. Just long winded.

such a cute baby! you should totally ask whoorl to interview you - how can you make a connection if you wait for someone else to make it? I say go for it!
Posted by: dana at April 20, 2007 03:29 PM
He is adorable! I can't remember if I said congratulations already, so I'll say it (again?) I agree with the part about not wanting to comment on someone else's blog, though not from shyness as much as when I start reading it's pretty personal. I just just started reading, so I wait until later.
By the way, my husband says he doesn't get why babies are cute because they are "just big piles of goo." Enjoy your pile of goo!

he looks so, so adorable. so adorable!
looks like you already have more than enough questions ...

OH LORD he is so cute!!!!! I'm impressed you posted at all. I am still haven't had time to post in the last month and my kid is much older. Hang in there, it gets so much better!
And the pooping! Breastfed babies are champion poopers. I promise it will slow down, at about one month they start to go far less, now the HEB goes 2-3 days without pooping. But he used to go with every feed!

First, HOW ADORABLE!!! You have the cutest little guy :) I love all that hair! My baby is turning one tomorrow, and still has quite the bald head lol.
Anyway, I just wanted to comment and say I know what you mean about being too shy to comment sometimes, because I fall into that category myself most of the time. I always worry that people will think I am invading their privacy because they don't know me. I do enjoy reading your blog though :) I found it a few months ago and have kept up with it ever since :)

That little guy is the cutest! Congratulations and I know you will have so much fun (despite the sleep deprivation and the chaos that is going to take over your life... )
